A gifted young Killarney boxer has just won his fifth national title in a row and, not to be outdone, his younger brother has also won an Irish championship in the ring.
15-year-old Jamesie Casey won the Junior 1 57kg tile in convincing fashion at the National Stadium in Dublin and to make it a memorable double for the family, his 12-year-old brother, Pa, won the 35kg crown.
Jamesie, a pupil at Killarney Community College, received a walkover in Kerry before overcoming opponents from Mayfield, Rathkeale and Riverstown in Cork to win the Munster title.
He faced boxers from Belfast, Ballina Co Mayo and Crumlin in Dublin to win the Irish crown.

Hard punching Jamesie will now compete in the National Cadets Championships next week with the hope of qualifying for the European Championships in Bosnia in June.
A member of Sliabh Luachra Boxing Club, Jamesie is coaches by his father, James, and John Coffey and his demanding training schedule involves a two-hour workout six days a week with in addition to hill sprints, strength and conditioning work and road runs.
His mum, Diane, takes care of his dietary needs, preparing and weighing his food every day and ensuring a close eye is kept on the calorie count and she also drops him to and collects him from training.
Jamesie is a former European silver medal winner and younger brother, Pa, who is a pupil in St Oliver’s National School in Ballycasheen, is determined to follow in his footsteps and is making quite an impression in the process.
Another younger brother, nine-year-old John, is also setting his sights on the ring.
The Casey brothers from Sneem are sporting legends throughout the world and it might only be a matter of time before the Casey brothers from Killarney are household names in their own right.
