Captain Cassandra has double cause to celebrate

SPA ladies gave won the coveted Junior A Championship title despite tough competition from Milltown/Listry in sunny Castleisland.

This win was a great team effort with goalkeeper, Linda Bruggener, pulling off some great saves.

The backline of Sinead Cronin, Kate Maher, Mairead Bennett and Elizabeth Stack were superb whileLoretta Maher controlled the centre of the pitch.

Lynn Jones notched up great scores along with Mairead Finnegan. Young Ciara Moynihan was all over the pitch but player-of-the-match was the hugely energetic Claire Moynihan. She covered every blade of the field to defend and score to help secure victory.

Well done to all the team and mentors Tim O’Connor and Donal O’Doherty. They will now meet the winners of the Cork Championship on October 6.
