Sinn Féin has added a second candidate to the general election ticket in Kerry.
Caherciveen woman Stephanie O’Shea has been selected to run alongside sitting TD Pa Daly.
Ms O’Shea contested the June local elections in the Kenmare electoral area when she secured 431 first preference votes.
The party said that running two candidates in the county was a signal of its intent to provide people with a real alternative to 100 years of two-party rule in the country.

Ms O’Shea said she wants want to help build on the great work that is being done by sitting TD Pa Daly and to offer people in this county the strongest possible alternative to failed policies.
“In 2020 people showed a huge desire for change and I believe that appetite is still there. Fine Gael have been in government now for 14 years and another five years of them in charge would be a disaster,” she said.
“We only need to look at the waste of taxpayers’ money on the infamous bike shed, phone pouches, and the scandalous overspend on the children’s hospital to see that they have been in government for too long”.
To date there are 15 candidates declared to contest the five seats up for grabs with four of the outgoing Dáil Deputies back on the ballot paper.
The candidates seeking election are:
Fianna Fail: Norma Foley, Linda Gordon Kelleher, Michael Cahill
Fine Gael: Billy O’Shea
Green Party: Cleo Murphy

Labour: Mike Kennedy
People Before Profit: Cian Prenderville
Aontú: Catherina O’Sullivan
