At the height of Covid in 2020-2021, over 40,000 young people, aged between 14- and 25, answered the President’s call to pursue a Gaisce Award which is the nation’s highest recognition of a young person’s initiative, achievement and voluntary contribution to society

In order to complete a Gold Gaisce Award, Natasha and the 78 other recipients set and achieved their own goals across areas that include personal skill, physical activity, community involvement, team adventure journey and a residential project.

The Gaisce Awards, founded in 1985, recognise young people’s commitment to personal development and community action. They celebrate the innate talents and abilities of all young people in Ireland, regardless of their circumstances.

The Gaisce Award programme has developed its offering to meet the needs of a wide variety of young people in communities across Ireland.
