Members of a Kerry business group have donated funds to support a fellow member who sustained catastrophic injuries in a workplace accident.

Painter/decorator Ger O’Doherty suffered very significant damage to his arm when he fell from a ladder when working on a building on New Street last July.

Thanks to prompt medical care, the support of his loved ones and his own determination, Ger is now on the road to recovery but, while his healing process is progressing well, he faces a significant financial challenge due to his inability to receive any disability payments as a sole trader.

In response, the local community has organised fundraising efforts to assist Ger in covering his expenses and a GoFundMe page, set up by a close friend, aims to provide additional financial relief.

Contributions of any size are greatly appreciated and will make a meaningful difference in helping Ger through his recovery.

The Kerry Chapter of BNI has now donated funds to support Ger community and is calling for support from all who can assist during this challenging period for his family.

BNI Kerry Chapter President, Anne Hannan, remarked: “We’re all about supporting each other and our motto is that givers gain so we are all very proud to have the opportunity to support Ger in his time of need”.
