THERE is a new face at the helm of the Skål organisation in Kerry.
Hotelier Brian Bowler has been elected president in succession to Margaret Cahill and he took possession of the chains of office at the annual general meeting.
Brian, who is the general manager of the award-winning Brehon Hotel in Killarney, will steer Kerry Skål for the next 12 months and he will preside at the various functions and receptions that will take place.
His predecessor was a vastly experienced tourism ambassador having headed up operations for Bord Fáilte and, later, Tourism Ireland in North America, Canada and the UK.
Skål is an international association of travel and tourism professionals and the club in Kerry is considered one of the most successful and progressive. The organisation promotes tourism and global friendship and its members, mainly managers and executives, meet and network at local, national and international level.
Sean O’Driscoll of the Muckross Park Hotel is the national president of Skål and Kenmare hotelier Francis Brennan is Ireland’s international councillor.
