JUST as Dr Crokes earned local bragging rights following their emphatic victory over Killarney Legion in the Kerry SFC quarter-final on Sunday, Killarney Celtic players, mentors and supporters also have cause to be brandishing king-sized smiles this week after they overcame Killarney Athletic in an all-Killarney FAI Junior Cup clash.
Celtic, who took over from Athletic as league and cup champions last season, had to come from behind in Celtic Park on Sunday after Anthony Cournane had edged Athletic ahead in the 46th minute.
A super Wayne Sparling strike and a Danny Roche brace sealed it in Celtic’s favour, much to the delight of the green and white side of Killarney.
