Bootle bashes the All Stars with class

Antuan Bootle top scored for Killarney with 27 points

KILLARNEY’S Scott’s Lakers finished the year on a high with a 65-60 victory over EL Sligo All Stars in the Killarney Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon.

The fixture was a rescheduled match because Sligo were unable to travel due to bad weather on December 10 but their long journey was in vain as Killarney has too much firepower, despite the loss of the impressive Bulgarian Mihail Kapitanov who has taken up a job offer in Italy.

Big American Antuan Bootle top scored for Killarney with 27 points while shooting guard Dailian Mason shot 12 and home grown star Padraig Lucey notched seven.
Tobi Brockmann, with 22, and Jesus Saint Martin, on 13, were the most impressive for the All Stars.

It was all square on 31 each at half time but, fired up by the passionate home support, Lakers pulled clear and had done enough at the final buzzer to seal the points.

Lakers will now prepare for a very important President’s Cup semi-final against Ballincollig on Saturday, January 6 in Neptune Stadium, Cork.
