TALKS are ongoing between Kerry County Council and the National Parks and Wildlife Service regarding the possible provision of a parking area adjacent to the popular Blue Pool walkway in Muckross, Killarney.

The facility on Mangerton Road, frequented by families and individuals on a daily basis, features a scenic woodland trail but there is only parking for one or possibly two vehicles at the entrance.

Cllr Michael Gleeson, who raised he matter, was told that the council is continuing to engage with National Parks and Wildlife Service in relation to the potential development at the location.

Meanwhile, fallen trees that were stuck across and underneath the second bridge on the Deenagh river walk at Knockreer have now been removed.

Mayor Brendan Cronin, who had expressed concern, was told that the trees have been removed by the National Park and Wildlife Services.
