Black belts next for impressive judo stars

Liadh Forde (silver), Kate Forde (gold) and Ciara Forde (bronze)

Several members of Killarnry Judo Club travelled to Dublin for the first competition of the season, the Leinster Open, on Sunday and to say they were impressive is quite the understatement.

Kate Forde won gold, while Liadh Forde and Patrik Polubnak both won silver.

Ciara Forde, James Maher and Rian Horgan, meanwhile, all earned hard-won bronze medals.

Next weekend, the club travels up to the national grading event where Liadh Forde and Kate Forde will be going for their black belts.

This will make them the youngest ever black belts in the club with nolessthan 25 black belts achieved in the club’s 60-year history.
