It’s a wonderful tradition, dating back generations, and the good news is it shows no signs of abating.
Beaufort Biddies steeped it out in some style when performing at Muckross House, Killarney as part of St Brigid’s Day celebrations.

They did so in aid of Kerry Parents and Friends Association which is a cause very close to the hearts of the Beaufort community.
The tradition of the Biddies is one of the oldest and most colourful customs in Ireland, a blend of pagan and Christian pageantry, held on the 1st February each year.
It heralds the beginning of spring time and honours St Bríd, the patron saint of the farming community.
