In the John Murphy Under 12 Cup Killarney Athletic booked the last place with a 4-3 win over Killorglin B. For a while, however, it looked like the visitors were going through with an Eoin Hassett hat-trick putting Killorglin B 3-0 up.
Athletic stormed back with two goals from Evan Looney and strikes from Seymon Bartkinwicz and Alex Hennighan. The win sets up a home quarter-final against Ballyhar.
Mastergeeha are into the last eight of the 13 Cup after they got the game from Listowel Celtic B. Already through are Park A, Listowel Celtic A, Listowel Celtic C and Killarney Celtic B.
In the Moriarty’s Centra Under 11 there were wins for Park A and Inter B over Inter and Kingdom Boys as the Under 11 League comes towards its conclusion.
In the Daly’s SuperValu Under 13 Premier Killarney Celtic wrapped up the title with a good win over Listowel Celtic. Peter O’Sullivan and Ryan Kelliher netted two each while Ryan O’Grady, Neil O’Shea, Darragh Lyne and Patrick Darcy also finding the target.
The Tralee derby finished in a 1-1 draw with Alfie Christie netting for the home side and Seán Kennedy equalising for their neighbours Kingdom Boys.
With Killarney Athletic and Inter Kenmare not playing in Division 1, third placed St Bernards were looking to close the game on them but they went down 4-2 to Killarney Celtic B. Evan Lyne hit three for Killarney Celtic and Adam McMahon getting the other. Adam Burke scored the two for the Saints.
Killorglin had goals from Stephen Seely, Brian Meehan and Jack Evans in their 5-1 over Kingdom Boys B.
In Division 2 The Park B moved level with Listowel Celtic C in second place after a 6-1 win over Asdee. It was the day of the Dziedziuch double act with Mark netting four and Carl another while Samson Ayavi also got on the scoresheet.
In the Killarney Plaza 15 Under Premier Killarney Celtic wrapped up the title and remained unbeaten after a 7-1 win over Park in Tralee.
Micheal Potts and Mark Harnett scored two each. Gearoid Dillane scored for the Park.
In the Under 15 Division 1 the big clash had unbeaten Ballyhar in third place taking on leaders Camp who were on 27 points from 10 games. With Niall O’Donoghue, Cian Callaghan and Diarmuid O’Mahony on the mark it was the boys from Murt Scott Park that kept the points in Ballyhar to now to move to eight unbeaten and are favourites for the title as they have games in hand. Joe Saunders and Joe Kennedy scored for Camp.
Killarney Athletic met and leap-frogged Castlemaine into fourth with a 4-2 away win. Ryan Casey hit two for the winners and the others came from Liam Curran and Blake Bolster. Cian Bradley got both for Castlemaine.
Inter Kenmare were too strong for Killarney Athletic B with Dillon O’Connor have a great day scoring five times. Dion Burke, Gearoid Fennessy and Ben O’Shea got the others.
Listowel Celtic B were 3-1 winners away to the Park for who Stephen Benjamin scored. Michael Kirby, Dean Halpin and Cian McCarthy were the Celtic scorers.
In the Tralee Trophy World Under 16 Division 1 Castleisland and Listowel Celtic were involved in a high scoring encounter ending 7-3 to the home side. John McMahon hit four, Mathew Brown got two and Seán Donoghue hit another for Castleisland while Ashley Kelliher, Cathal Kennelly, Darren Loughnane and Brian Mason scored for the North Kerry side.
In the Inter League Kerry were in Inter League action at Under 12s and Under 15swith both teams in Limerick. The Under 12s were involved in the first of two weekends of action at UL and went down 4-0 to a very strong Cork side and were drawing 2-2 with South Tipperary until the last kick of the when they conceded a third. Liam Tobin and Seán McGrath were the Kerry scorers.
The Under 15s went down 5-2 to Limerick District. Michael Potts got the Kerry goals.
In the Under 13 National Cup quarter-final Clonmel started with a very strong and swirling wind and had the ball in the net within 30 seconds, the influential Rhys O’Regan and Eanna Ryan setting up Sam Dwyer for a goal.
Killorglin were under the cosh all through the first half and were stung again when a brilliant long distance free kick by David Brannigan doubled Clonmel’s lead.
Killorglin did much better on the turnaround, with the outstanding Gearoid Hassett switching from attack to defence and he very unlucky with great free kick.
Jack O’Connor caused Clonmel huge problems down the left flank but they couldn’t get through for the goal their efforts deserved.
Futsal
There were places in this weekend’s Under 10 Futsal finals up for grabs in the Mounthawk gym with some very exciting games. Killarney Celtic won all their games to top the group followed by Killarney Celtic 2. Castleisland were third and The Park fourth and all four go forward.
