
A talented Killarney athlete has secured a major athletics scholarship to the USA.
Oisin Lynch, who has been successful at county, provincial and national level in his athletics career so far, has represented Ireland and is setting fast times at 800m (1:50) and the 1,500m (3:51).
His several successes caught the eye of a number of colleges in the US and he has decided to take up the offer of a scholarship to Adams State College in Colorado.
Oisin is a valued club-mate to all his training group in Killarney Valley AC where, his dad Con, is coach to the distance crew.

The training schedule at Killarney Valley AC is highly regarded where Tomás Griffin, Alan Delaney and Tim Horgan and their team excel at many different disciplines.
Oisin, together with his clubmate Jack O’Leary, have both been achieving very fast times on the circuit and have raced at meetings in Dublin, Belfast and in Manchester over the last few weeks.
They even teamed up along the way with the new European 1,500m champion Ciara Mageean.
Chairman Jeremiah Griffin said the said the club is enjoying incredible success with Sarah Leahy, Ciara Kennelly, Jordan Lee and Jason O’Reilly, amongst others, inspiring a new generation of future young stars.

“We would like to take the opportunity to congratulate Oisin, his mum Martina, dad Con and his brothers Cian and Daragh.
