KERRY has been included in a further 102 cases of Covid-19 reported by public health officials this Monday although it will be tomorrow before the exact number of new infections in the county is confirmed.
No further deaths have been reported nationally – the number of fatalities remains at 1,777 – but the number of infections has now increased to 29,774.
75 per cent of new cases reported are under the age of 45 with 57 females and 45 males impacted.
Of today’s cases, 56 were in Dublin, 11 in Leitrim and six in Galway with a total of 29 cases divided between Kerry, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, Carlow, Cavan, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Westmeath and Wexford.
Acting Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ronan Glynn, said the authorities are monitoring, with growing concern, the number of cases nationally, particularly in Limerick and Dublin.
“The next seven days are vital,” he said.
“Everyone needs to reduce their contacts and assume any person you do meet may be carrying the virus,” he said.
