Almost €1m for sports clubs

JUST under €1 million has been awarded to 29 sports clubs and community organisations in Kerry under the 2015 Sports Capital Programme.

Killarney Legion GAA club will receive €50,000, St Brendan’s Rowing Club has been allocated €40,000; Deerpark Pitch and Putt Club is to get €20,000, Fossa Rowing Club has been approved for €15,000 and Killarney Swimming Club will get €12,000.

Announcing the €950,000 grant aid, Killarney-based Senator Marie Moloney said all the clubs have worked tirelessly on behalf of their communities.

“It will help these clubs modernise and develop their sports facilities and purchase new sports equipment, all of which has a positive knock on effect for our communities,” she said.
