There was no shortage of silverware on display at a packed Killarney Heights Hotel with the Kerry, Munster and All-Ireland Intermediate Championship trophies taking pride of place as well as other cups won by club representatives during the course of the year.
On a memorable day in Croke Park in January, Denis Moynihan’s senior side registered a 1-11to 0-11 victory over Gallbally Pearses of Tyrone to see Rathmore take the national title following a hugely determined and stylish display.
That day saw Kerry goalkeeper Shane Ryan, who plays outfield for his club, leading the scoring with 1-3 and it earned him the man-of-the-match award.

It was his partner in attack, Brian Friel, that took centre stage at the medal presentation ceremony in Killarney at the weekend, however, when he was named player of the years while club secretary, Mike Cronin, was chosen as club person of the year.
Special presentations were made on the night to Shane Ryan and Paul Murphy to mark their All-Ireland success with Kerry and to Fionn Murphy who won a minor All-Star award.
Presentations were also made to the Rathmore senior team management team Denis Moynihan, Tim Cronin and Dan O’Sullivan and to veteran Aidan O’Mahony who has given such great service to club and county for so many years.
