
A talented young commis chef, currently working in a top Killarney hotel, has been nominated for the Apprentice of the Year 2024 Award by the National Apprenticeship Office.
Alison O’Sullivan, currently an apprentice in the five-star Killarney Park Hotel, said she is thrilled to be nominated.
Described as a natural leader, who grasps every opportunity with both hands, she stated simply: “Hard work pays off.”
Nationally, 400 outstanding apprentices have been nominated and Alison is one of 56 representatives from the south west in the running to win the title.
She has gained invaluable experience in the kitchen of the Killarney Park which is one of the most prestigious hotels in the country with a reputation for top class cuisine.
The trailblazing nominees are drawn from all industry sectors, contributing to the growth, creativity, competitiveness of their chosen fields.
All nominees will be invited to a gala awards ceremony in Dublin on October 23 and the event will bring people together for a celebration of the exciting and rewarding careers and possibilities that come with an apprenticeship.
