BUSINESS leaders in Killarney turned out in force for the official launch of a new tourism company aimed at attracting luxury tours to Kerry and other locations in Ireland.
Alice Thompson is the driving force behind the new enterprise, Experience Ireland Golf and Travel, which was launched at a reception in Churchtown House in Beaufort on Thursday.
She described the venture as an exciting new challenge which she has undertaken since returning to her native Killarney from Dublin.
“As I have worked in the tourism industry from such a young age, my ambition was always to start my own company,” Alice said.
She grew up on Beaufort Golf Course which was run by her family and she later worked O’Callaghan’s Coach Hire in Killarney as logistics manager.
The bright lights of Dublin soon beckoned and she found herself at the Merrion Hotel as guest relations manager before moving on to the position of sales executive.
“Tourism and hospitality has always been a huge part of my life. I am so excited to be back home in the hub of tourism and my home town to start my new venture,” she said.
At Experience Ireland Golf and Travel, Alice will design and custom build bespoke itineraries for visitors to Ireland, with overnights in some of the most outstanding hotels. golfing on top courses and all in the comfort of a luxury VIP chauffeur driven vehicle.
