THE man arrested for questioning in the investigation into the abduction and disappearance of a father of four from a Kerry beach in 1991 has been released without charge.
A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The man, aged in his 60s, was arrested as part of an ongoing probe into the disappearance of Charles Brook Pickard at White Strand in Castlecove.
He was detained at Killarney Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 but he was released yesterday evening.
43-year-old Brook Pickard is understood to have been abducted by a number of males at Castlecove, near Sneem, in April 1991. Less than a month later, his navy Ford Transit van was found burnt out in Shronaloughnane Forest, 27 miles from where he was last seen.
In September Killarney Gardaí said they would not rule out the possibility of arrests in the new investigation following a fresh search of a Coillte owned forest at Derrennageeha, Ballaghisheen.
