Progressive Kerry company Solar Beo has successfully installed a 55kWp commercial Solar PV system at O’Shea’s Gala in Blennerville, marking a significant step in the store’s commitment to sustainability as part of the retail greener grant initiative.
The installation includes 88 high-efficiency 625Wp solar panels and a Huawei inverter, strategically positioned on the southwest-facing roof to maximise energy generation throughout the day. The system is already delivering substantial energy savings and helping to power the store’s daily operations.
Store owner, Kieran O’Shea, remarked: ”We are delighted to be among the first Gala retailers to implement a commercial Solar PV system. The immediate savings and reduced carbon footprint make this a win-win for our business and the environment.”
With the ample roof space available, Solar Beo optimised capacity to install the full 55kWp system, ensuring maximum efficiency. The investment is expected to achieve a payback period of under two years, making it a highly cost-effective solution.

“The system includes a 25-year warranty on the panels, a 10-year warranty on the inverter, and ongoing monitoring by our own electrical design engineer to ensure long-term performance and reliability,” he said.
Additionally, an in-store TV display mirroring the Huawei app will educate and inform customers in real-time about the solar PV system’s energy production, highlighting O’Shea’s commitment to sustainability.
