
In a season that will be etched into the annals of Mastergeeha FC history, the club’s under 12 girls crowned their campaign with a dramatic Premier League Final victory away to Castleisland.
It saw them securing an illustrious treble that will be remembered for years to come. This extraordinary team claimed the Premier League, Kerry Cup, SFAI Regional Cup and reached the final 16 of the SFAI National Cup, showcasing their exceptional talent along the way.
The final clash against Castleisland, for the second time following their cup final meeting, was a gripping spectacle. Despite the scoreline remaining 0-0 at the end of normal time and with neither side able to secure victory after extra time, the outcome rested on the nerve-wracking ordeal of penalties.
Mastergeeha displayed remarkable composure with Áine Herlihy, Shauna O’Riordan and Kaitlin O’Riordan converting their penalties with clinical precision.
The defining moment came when Shauna O’Riordan, demonstrating nerves of steel, saved Castleisland’s fourth penalty, sealing a 3-1 triumph for Mastergeeha and joint captains, sisters Shauna and Kaitlin O’Riordan, lifted the league trophy amid a chorus of cheers.
