IRELAND rugby legend Rob Kearney and the Children’s Health Foundation have issued an appeal to the people of Kerry to get in their festive finery and support a novel Christmas Jumper Day to vital funds to support Children’s Health Ireland and urgent care centres in Crumlin, Temple Street and Connolly Hospitals.
Rob, who is an ambassador for Children’s Health Foundation, joined little friends Thea, Amelia, Olivia, Alex and Kai to launch this year’s big evet which will take place nationwide on Friday, December 10.
Families, communities, schools, crèches, clubs and companies have been urged to host a Christmas Jumper Day fundraiser, put on their best – or worst – festive season fashions and raise funds that will be put to work where they are needed most to help sick children and their families.
Denise Fitzgerald, Chief Executive of Children’s Health Foundation, remarked: “We need people to put on their silliest sweaters to help raise vital funds and help make a real and lasting difference to the lives of sick children.
“By taking part in this year’s Christmas Jumper Day the public will help fund vital equipment, essential patient supports, ground-breaking research and new services.
