BOSSES at Kerry Airport have welcomed the provision of a €1.7 million allocation to the facility under the Regional Airports Programme 2021-2025.
Chief Executive, John Mulhern, said the last year has been an unprecedented chapter of great struggle for the airport but, despite it all, they are confident for the future as it continues to receive the omnipresent support of the government.
“Today’s announcement of record capital funding is yet another example of how this government ensures we will have the assets and capability to maintain and continue to build a safe, secure and more environmentally-conscious platform towards recovery,” he said.

Mr Mulhern thanked Minister Eamon Ryan, Minister of State Hildegarde Naughton and all of the team in the Department of Transport.
He also recognised the role played by Minister Norma Foley and Deputy Brendan Griffin, the county’s representatives in government and all elected officials.
“Undoubtedly, we will need to wrestle through for a time. However, record vaccination rates and funding such as this pave the way to unfettered travel that we all long for again,” Mr Mulherm stated.
