Fiadh’s Voyage, the second offering, is a call to the wild from Derrynane based Vincent Hyland who is a man of many parts, described by the series makers as a multimedia artist, coastal ecologist, wildlife guide, photographer and wildlife and underwater film maker.

Vincent, who has written, directed, narrated, filmed and appeared in a variety of shows for TV, was inspired by the Irish Chamber Orchestra’s rendition of Mendelssohn’s iconic Hebrides Overture which amplifies the Atlantic Ocean on a coastal boat trip around the Hebrides.

In his spectacular footage, Vincent explores the cycle of the gannet Fiadh in an evocative maritime adventure. Produced by Vincent himself, it is narrated by Irish Chamber Orchestra violinist Oonagh Keogh and it is inspired by the beauty of the Kerry coastline, its nature and its wild Atlantic seas.

Vincent works within Derrynane’s Special Area of Conservation from the mountains to the forest, the sand dunes, dry heath islands to underwater and onwards to the Bull Rock and Skellig Rocks.

The orchestra’s music injects a certain vibrancy to the film which makes it soar and Fiadh’s Voyage will broadcast on the Irish Cahmber Orchestra’s social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter, from Thursday, March 25. See www.irishchamberorchestra.com.
