BRIGHT spark students of a Kerry secondary school has been crowned national champions after they put their entrepreneurial skills to great use to design and develop an Irish language board game.
Patrick Sauners, Finn Daibhéis and Liam Ó hÓgáin, from Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne, entered their fledgling business idea – Rí na bhFocal – in the Údarás na Gaeltachta Clár na gComhlachtaí 2020 competition and it earned them national recognition and the ultimate prize.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Corca Dhuibhne entrepreneurs only got the chance to lift their trophies this week alongside their delighted school principal, Éamon Fitzmaurice.

Clár na gComhlachtaí, an entrepreneurial initiative developed and delivered by Údarás na Gaeltachta and Junior Achievement Ireland, has an international dimension with Rí na bhFocal now going on to represent Ireland at the JA Europe Company of the Year competition.
It was due to be held in sun-kissed due to be held in Portugal but, due to travel restrictions, it will now be held online from July 22-24.
This is the second time that the winners of Údarás na Gaeltachta’s Clár na gComhlachtaí will have the opportunity to participate at the European level of the competition.
