Hallowe’en horror in the Outlet Centre

Blood and gore: Kinga Macherzynska and Julia Duleba, Killarney, at last year’s party

WHATEVER about the night, things will most certainly be going bump in the day on Sunday when Killarney Outlet Centre will enter a darker side for what promises to be a Hallowe’en Fancy Dress Party the likes of which has never been seen before.

Those planning to attend have been warned to be afraid and very afraid as ghouls, goblins, ghosts, witches, wacky wonders and weirdos descend in strange spooky swarms upon the building.

Fears of a zombie takeover have been dispelled however as the team at Killarney Outlet Centre assure all that there will be fantastic prizes and free fun activities for the whole family from 2pm to 6pm.

The lucky winners of the fancy dress parade will receive a Flicker A3 air scooter for the best dressed boy and girl, both sponsored by World of Wonder.

The best dressed family prize, in association with Select Hotels of Ireland, will win a fabulous family break in the Twin Trees Hotel in Co Mayo with two night’s B+B and one dinner for two adults and two children under 12. The best dressed adult, meanwhile, will collect a family pass for Killarney Ghost Tours.

All entrants are asked to donate €1 in support of Killarney Rotary Club’s End Polio Now campaign.

The panel of judges are looking forward to seeing more fantastic and unusual costumes this year. Every child will receive a goodie bag and there’s even a treat in store for parents, as everyone who comes along to the party will receive a voucher from Select Hotels of Ireland offering a free second night’s stay when one night away is booked at any Select Hotel nationwide.

The fun-filled day will feature bouncy castles with A Time to Party, free Hallowe’en face painting and free Hallowe’en-themed recycled arts and crafts workshops. There will be free children’s entertainment with spooky storytelling sessions and Punch and Judy puppet shows in the Yurt from 2pm to 4pm.

Killarney Candle Makers and Clay Fun will also be on hand to help create personalised candles or clay designs and a small materials charge applies.

Paul Sherry: looking forward to the fun

Ireland’s premier Outlet Centre will also host a bespoke Arts, Crafts and Food Fair on the ground floor on this Saturday and Sunday 28 and the public is encouraged to support local artists, craft workers and food producers and check out the exquisite range of unique handcrafted goods on offer, with something to suit all tastes and pockets.

Paul Sherry, General Manager at Killarney Outlet Centre, said he can’t wait for the mayhem and madness to get underway.

“Hallowe’en is a great time for the kids to be kids and I know families are really looking forward to our fancy dress party and all the free fun activities, to which all are welcome,” he said.
