Killarney Celtic will play Sheriff YC of Dublin in Mastergeeha on Saturday, April 8 at 5.00pm. This is an absolutely huge game for the club, the biggest in a lifetime, and support will be crucial.

We had a fantastic quarter-final triumph over Janesboro, and the amount of people who got behind the club that made a real difference and made it a brilliant occasion – we are asking people to get behind us again. A big thank you to our neighbours Mastergeeha – occasional rivals on the field but great friends everywhere else – for facilitating the game.

Senior: Killarney Celtic’s exploits in the FAI Junior Cup have given us entry to the FAI Senior Cup and we will play Boyle Celtic at home in Celtic Park on the weekend of April 30.

Parade: Mile buiochas to everybody involved in the St. Patrick’s Day parade, and special congratulations to our Football For All team on winning an award for embracing the overall theme of diversity.

Premier: Listowel Celtic 1 Killarney Celtic 1. Celtic had to dig really deep to come away with a point here. Wayne Sparling with a perfect finish put us 1-0 up but we were reduced to ten men and were unlucky to cough up an equaliser in the dying minutes.

Under 15: Regional United 3 Killarney Celtic 1. A gallant effort in the inaugural year of the Munster Cup Final competition but Regional were excellent and deserved to take the Munster title ahead of a great effort by Celtic.

Under 15 Cup: Killarney Celtic B 3 Park B 0. Alex Fogarty, Matthew Fleming, and Tom Doyle were on target for an on-fire Celtic, with Paul O’Sullivan giving a man of the match performance.

U15 Div 2: Killarney Celtic B 2 Inter Kenmare 2. This was a very close and hard-fought game and in the end neither side deserved to win or lose. Tom Doyle and Cian Doe got our goals.

U14 Kerry Cup: Killarney Celtic 4 Iveragh 1. Kevin Bowler, Killian O’Sullivan, Cian Doe and Ruairi Dorrian got the goals to put us into the last four.

U13 Kerry Cup: Park B 7 Killarney Celtic B 2. Luke Crowley and Martin O’Brien scored for us but it was to no avail against a brilliant Park outfit.

U12 Regional Cup final: Fairview Rangers 0 Killarney Celtic 2. The inaugural Regional Finals of the Sketchers National Cup saw Killarney Celtic 12s and 15s in action in Limerick today with The Park 13s playing their final in the coming weeks.
And it was the Killarney Celtic 12s that have created history by becoming the first Kerry side to lift a regional trophy. Their game against Fairview Rangers was a tight and tense affair and was scoreless at half time.

Killarney Celtic took control in the second half, however, and Kalvin O’Sullivan put them ahead after 10 minutes. The same player wrapped up the win with his second a few minutes later. The players were delighted to collect their winner’s medals from SFAI Chairman John Early.

U12 Premier: Killarney Celtic 3 Iveragh 1. Eoghan Crowley scored all Killarney Celtic’s 3 goals in their 3-1 win over their nearest challengers Iveragh United. Celtic’s win on Monday, at the start of a great week for the team, sees them move four points clear of Iveragh and they have two games in hand.

U12 Kerry Cup: Killarney Celtic B 2 Mastergeeha B 4. Alex O’Connor and Fionn Noctor were on target for us and it would have been more but for the brilliant display of Mastergeeha keeper Liam Kerrisk.

Kalvin: Congratulations to under 12 player Kalvin O’Sullivan on making the Kerry Schoolboys/Schoolgirls Team of the Week.

Killarney Athletic FC News

Under 14: Our under 14s played away in Fenit in very windy conditions on Saturday. Athletic fell behind when the ball was well cleared from a corner and a well-struck shot from distance, aided by the wind, found the bottom corner. Fenit’s second came from a well struck free kick, after a foul on the edge of the box.

Athletic’s best chance came when Mulvanney did great work down the right, forcing a cross which the keeper fumbled, O’Sullivan attacked the ball and the keeper made the save after a questionable tackle on O’Sullivan was waved away.
2-0 down at the break, the game was still wide open. Athletic had joy early on playing the ball fast over the top for the strikers to run onto. Disaster struck soon after, when Athletic failed to clear from a corner and the ball fell kindly to the Fenit player who finished well.

The lads got one back when Rocco beat three defenders on the edge of the box and finished smartly to the net. Pressing now, Athletic got hit with two sucker punches, from dubious offside decisions as Fenit secured the game.

The lads were outsmarted by a more streetwise team and will learn from this experience. Best for Athletic were Doolan, Pierce and Mulvanney.

300 Club: It is still not too late to sign up for the 300 club draw with the club offering the reduced rate of €100 for the remaining 10 draws of the year. Forms can be got from any committee member and we would ask all members to support.

Congratulations: The club would like to congratulate the Dr Crokes team on winning the All Ireland Club football final on St Patrick’s Day. A huge feat with many of our senior squad involved.
