THE death has occurred in Killarney of Jim Teahan who was a well-known and very popular garda sergeant in the town for many years.
The late Sgt Teahan passed away peacefully, following an illness, at his home in Lissivigeen on Friday.
He was laid to rest in his native Killorglin on Sunday following Requiem Mass in the Church of the Resurrection, Killarney.
Sgt Teahan spent many years stationed in Killarney where he is remembered as a courteous, caring garda with a great sense of community and fairness.
He is survived by his wife, Anne, daughters Geraldine, Siobhan, Kay and Deirdre, son Seamus, grandchildren, brother Denis, sister Mary, and many relatives and friends,
