ONE of the most popular priests in the Diocese of Kerry has celebrated a significant milestone in his vocation.

Fr Bill Radley, the long-serving parish priest in Glenflesk, has marked the golden jubilee of his ordination.

Parishioners in the sprawling parish paid tribute to the gregarious cleric who has been the spiritual figurehead in Glenflesk – where there are three churches – for several years.

The occasion was marked with a special anniversary Mass in St Agatha’s Church followed by a parish party in the local community centre.

A feast of music, song and dance was lined up and a number of presentations were made to Fr Radley, including artwork from the pupils of the primary schools in the parish.

Fr Radley also received a number of gifts, including an autographed Cork jersey just in case the lifetime he has spent in Kerry might give him cause to forget his rebel roots.
