Fossa qualify for county finals

THE East Kerry Scór Sinsir finals were held at Killarney Racecourse on Friday last. Well done to Fossa’s Léiriú group of Mike Sheehan, Gene Moriarty, Mike Griffin, Eileen Lucey, Frances Healy and Theresa Kissane who qualified for the county final which will be held in Castleisland on February 6. Thanks to Jackie Quirke for her help in preparing the group.
Scór na bPáiste will be held some time in March, children from 5th and 6th classes living in Fossa parish who are interested in taking part should contact Scór Officer Theresa Kissane on 087-6816169 immediately.

Lotto: In the Fossa GAA lotto on January 17 the numbers drawn were 5, 11, 16 and 18.  There was no jackpot winner and the €40 consolation prize winners were Ann Russell, Gortroe; Jon Falvey, Two Mile; Patrick Cronin, Crohane; Joan Fitzgerald, The Malton and Christina Cronin, Crohane.

Next week’s jackpot will be €4,950. Tickets are on sale at the Golden Nugget Bar, the Castlerosse Leisure Centre, Travel Inn, Old Killarney Inn, Foley’s Spar Shop, The Laurels Bar and committee members.

Rambling: A great night of music, song, dance and storytelling was enjoyed by all at the Travel Inn, Fossa. The night was organised by Fossa/Two Mile Comhaltas branch. The committee members are very grateful to everyone who performed or helped out in any way to make the night such a success. Thanks to the Travel Inn for hosting the event.

Dancing: Junior set dancing classes continue on Friday evenings in Fossa Community Centre, with beginners from 6.15-7pm and advanced from 7-8pm. Further details are available from Norita on 087-7424468.

Sets: Senior set dancing continues on Tuesday nights from 9.00pm to 10.30pm in Fossa Community Centre. All welcome. For further details contact Catherine on 087-6799330.

Alert: The annual general meeting of Fossa Community Alert will be held in the Killarney Valley Hotel on Friday, January 22at 8pm. All are welcome to attend.

Pitch: The all weather pitch at Fossa National School is open from Monday to Friday from 4pm to 10pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 10pm. All types of sport are played on this floodlit pitch.
