The St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Killarney this year will have a distinct German flavour with a colourful group from Killarney’s twin town of Pleinfeld travelling to participate.
The Pleinfeld Hummells Group, who display some terrific costumes and have a great sense of fun and atmosphere, were a big hit with the watching crowd on previous visits.
The Pleinfeld visiting group will number 42, including the mayor and the former twinning committee chairman.
The Killarney Twinning Association will also play host this year to baton-swirling majorettes from Italian twin town of Casperia and guests from Leverkusen in Germany along with the mayors and delegations from Kendal in England, Casperia and Staffanstorp in Sweden.
