A new pedestrian crossing is now fully operational at a busy junction linking the entrance to Killarney House and Gardens on Mission Road and tow town’s main car park on Beech Road.
The development has been warmly welcomed by Mayor of Killarney, Cllr Brendan Cronin, who had been campaigning for the crossing for several years.

He said he was delighted that all work is now finished at the site and the flashing lights have been installed.
“This new crossing will finally provide a designated safe location for pedestrians to cross the extremely busy Mission Road from the New Street car parks to the Killarney House entrance,” he said.
Mayor Cronin thanked Killarney Municipal District engineers, John Ahern and Stephen Sheehan, for getting the project across the line and also to the contractor for completing the job in a timely fashion in difficult weather conditions.
