Funds can boost arts, culture, entertainment and festivals

Minister Norma Foley: Welcomed the funding

A QUARTER of a million euro is to be made available to Kerry County Council under the outdoor public space scheme.

Local authorities had been invited to apply for a capital grant of up to €250,000 for a project at a funding rate of 90 per cent.

Grants are awarded for projects that focus on the delivery of infrastructure to support arts, culture, creative activities, entertainment events and festivals and the night-time economy.

Minister for Education and Kerry TD, Norma Foley, has today welcomed the announcement and the spend can include the provision, adaptation or improvement of outdoor public spaces in population centres.

“This €250,000 will provide a welcome stream of funding that will help create new and update existing outdoor spaces,” she said.
