
Significant traffic delays are anticipated in Killarney this Monday and Tuesday while citizenship ceremonies take place in the Gleneagle INEC Arena.
The Muckross Road area is expected to be particularly busy and shuttle bus service will operate from the bus station to the venue.
Four separate ceremonies will take place this Monday with three more planned for Tuesday so there will be a huge influx of visitors to the town.
An estimated 6,000 people are anticipated in town over the two days and Gardai are monitoring the traffic flow on site.
At the ceremony those receiving citizenship will take an oath of fidelity to the nation and their certificates of naturalisation will be issued by registered post in the weeks following the ceremony.
The declaration states that they will respect the rights, freedoms an laws of Ireland and they give an undertaking to faithfully observe the laws o the State and respect its democratic values.
