255 more cases of coronavirus confirmed today

The current number of known Covid-19 cases in Kerry is 348

FOUR new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Kerry this Sunday bringing the total number of known infections in the county to date to 348.

It is the biggest daily increase in the county for over a week and public health officials have indicated that additional cases in Kerry have been reported and will be confirmed tomorrow.

Nationally, one additional death was confirmed this Sunday, bringing the total number of fatalities to 1,784 while the number of new cases today has rocketed by 255 with 30,985 people now known to have contracted the virus.

Of the cases notified today, 129 are male and 123 are female with 68 per cent of those infected under the age of 45.

34 per cent are confirmed to be associated with outbreaks or are close contacts of a previously confirmed case while 69 cases have been identified as community transmission

156 of the cases reported today are in Dublin, 22 in Waterford, 13 in Donegal, 11 in Wicklow, nine in Limerick, eight in Kildare and five in Clare with the remaining 31 cases in Kerry, Cork, Tippersry, Waterford, Carlow, Galway, Laois, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Offaly and Westmeath.
